I have ranted, and I have raved about how we have too many animals in our house. We live in a zoo with all the kids and pets underfoot. Did that stop me from rescuing a kitten that was hiding out under the Suburban last night? No. Did that stop me from becoming attached and naming her? No.
And I do see the irony of leaving an event to help the homeless and bringing a homeless kitten home with me. I thought she was just scared, and that's why she'd taken refuge under my vehicle. But, we soon found out, she was injured. Today the vet confirmed that Alice has a broken pelvis. It's not a pretty x-ray, but treatment is easy. She will be confined to her carrier for at least a week, closer to two. Then she can be allowed out, to walk as she desires, but don't force her. Because she's young the prognosis is good. Her growth plates will likely ensure that she has nicely healed hips by the time she's full grown.
The biggest blessing is the person that helped me rescue the kitten, loves animals. She loves them enough to have a fund set up to help pay for spay/neuter and shots. When I told her about the kitten, she called and said she'd pay for the vet visit. So Alice will be joining our home. I'm a firm believer that some of the best pets find you, not the other way around.

All of our cats are rescues. 2 from you!! One from PetSmart and 1 from the middle of the street. So you come by the craziness honestly!
So nice to have another grand cat.
