Sincerely 'Fro Me to You Summertime Dirt

Want to see some more photos that won't make it in the scrapbook? Head over to Kristen's at We Are THAT Family.

I'm a huge proponent of letting kids play in the dirt. Not only do they use their imaginations, and often get a little exercise, but a little dirt doesn't hurt (one look around my house will tell you that!). Our kid's also don't bathe everyday. First of all, that's a lot of money spent on water and heat. Second, being so concerned about killing germs is how we have all ended up being more sensitive to them. I have a friend that's a doctor. She lets her kids eat dry cereal thats dropped to the floor, so I'm in good company on this.

Occasionally though, the kids get a little beyond dirty with all of their play. This was the case on Saturday. They had fun at the dragstrip watching race cars Friday night. They played around the house, went to the library, and after dinner with Grandma Owie and Papa, they played in the park. When I threw them both in the tub, the water started looking pretty gross. I personally soaped them up, to make sure to cut through some of the grime. The kids didn't seem to notice the color of the water, but I had to grab the camera.

I think the water looks cleaner in the photo than it really was. Mo was so easy to photograph. Kaia refused to cooperate and didn't give me one modest photo. So that is her dirt too, and you can see her leg in the first pic.

Finally, what you have all been waiting for, the real Summertime Dirt. My rear end. Reminds me of one of those trash rags in the supermarket. The one's that headline "Which Celebs Got Fat" and then you look at the photo and think... If that's fat, I'll take it! Yeah, I'm not fat, but we all have butt dimples, Right??? Right??? Come on admit it!

And Yes, Dana had the camera!

Me? Not so much!

We use colored soap so the water is always a different color, hides the dirt.

I love the comment that you're not going to make any friends with your tiny hiney. LOL. And totally agree.

I bow to your dirty water. That's just great. I'm a big fan of dirt.

I'm officially jealous. You're still in a bikini. I gave up after the 2nd baby. Tankinis are great though.

Wish I looked like that in a bikini :)

I was SO happy when my daughter started taking showers. Those dirt rings are tough to scrub out!! hahaha!

Butt dimples....PLEASE! ;0) I feel the same way about dirt. The girls take a shower every other day (on a good week. ;o) ), but baths were a different story. I always told myself too many would dry out their skin. Hehe. As far as dry cereal on the floor, isn't that what the 5 second (or 1 minute) rule is for? LOL
Great post!

We have since moved on to showers in our house and I am quite thankful! No ring around the tub.

Thank me now for not posting pictures of J.Lo's, I mean my booty on the internet.
