Kindergarten

Today was the first day of school! Kaia was definitely excited. She dressed herself and got ready without an argument.

Here she is in her new outfit. She was bursting as she put in on "I've always wanted to wear this outfit all day!" This was a school outfit from Grandma Owie, and she has only been allowed to wear it once to church. Of course Mo couldn't let Sissy get all the photo attention.

This is the lunch I carefully packed for her, and she didn't eat. Crackers, cheese and summer sausage, fresh tomato, banana, juice packet (I haven't found a small reusable container that doesn't leak yet) and a small chocolate wafer bar. She had the Eating Right Puffed Cocoa cereal for breakfast. (Just $1 at Safeway) Apparently the teachers had everyone eat the same meal today. Not sure what was the reason, but oh well, the food was still cold when it came home so Kaia's lunch is ready for Thursday.

Tomorrow Kaia has the day off, and then she starts in full on Thursday. I admit I didn't even tear up dropping her off, and was very excited to pick her up. She was just as excited to go as she was to see me.

TJ,
It's just seem like my daughter was in Kindergartin...19 years ago. she(Kandi) was so excited like your daughter Kaia. She wanted to get out by herself and walk in her room...I wanted to get out with her and make sure she went in the right room. But my husband told me to let her go... I cried...My baby all grown up. My baby is now 24 years old, happy married. I so excited that everything went well with you both. :) Thanks for stopping by..glad you like my ideas...wanted to share with my blog friend..it's so simple and fast to do. You have a wonderful week. ~Kathy~

I am so glad when kids are excited about going to school... I wish I would have been! I was so happy when I graduated from college that I treated myself to a year off and I've never been back! ~ jb///

I always take milk in my lunch to work. I use the milk bottles from McDonalds and wash them out. They come in the kids Happy Meals.

Your girl is very pretty. And she looks so happy! I remember when my girl (now in college) started kindergarten. She was all excited for new adventures. I didn't cry either. I was too excited for her to be sad :-)

Please tell Ms. K that pink crocs and a plaid skirt are an AWESOME way to start a new school year. She has established herself as a trendy chic and now everyone in her class is going to want to know what makes her REALLY special - her wonderful personality! Tell Ms. K also that the BEST accessory to any outfit is a super bright smile. She was WELL accessorized!

Hope your daughter's first week ended well! My middle guy just started K as well. He eats more of his lunch than his older sis in 3rd grade, but still they come home and beg for snacks...I tell them to eat there lunch! LOL

Have a great school year, and I'd love for you to link your Kindergarten post to my Kindergarten Chronicles series!
