A Bright Spot

Ok so the good news today is this:

I really wanted to go through and circle some of the ads, but I don't have a good photo program! ARGGHH The one at work is too basic, and the only one at home needs to be reinstalled.

But, I hope you can see my reason for excitement.

  1. Milk for $1.59
  2. 7 avocados for $1 (yum!)
  3. 68 cent whole chickens (this will really depend on where they are from. No offense to my Southern friends, but chicken that has been shipped from Arkansas to Washington does not qualify as fresh!)
  4. Mangos 3 for $1 (I hear Mango Salsa calling my name)
  5. Jalpenos 79 cents a pound (need these for the Mango Salsa!)
  6. Radishes and green onions 3 for $1

Ok I did want to get excited about the limes, but we just don't need them. I have 3 limes in the fridge right now. I will probably buy some Roast too. While it's not the best price I've seen, I haven't seen any good prices lately. Our freezer has no roasts in it at this time, which is a shame. One roast makes so many meals. One night will be roast with potatoes and veggies. Then it transforms into stroganoff, stew, BBQ beef sandwiches, taco filling... So many possibilities and I forgot one of the best: Roast beef sandwich with cheese, mayo and horseradish! I'll let you know how I fare, and share the Mango Salsa recipe later.

Oh. My. Goodness. Why don't people around here ever have sales like that? Seven avocados for a dollar? My husband would be in heaven. I would so break my ban on the grocery store this week!

Oh, and if you want some limes anyway, how about fresh limeade? My mouth is watering at the thought.

Fresh limeade *is* really yummy! Also, I like putting lime juice and lime zest in my guacamole -- which is totally what you should do with those seven avocados!

I'm envious of the $1.59 milk. I don't think I've seen it for less than $1.99 in the past five years, and that price is rare.

Buy some for me, and um, come fix dinner.

You are a Super homemaker. When I grow up, I am going to be just like TJ.

Be blessed.
