Camping Menu

It's Show & Tell over at Kelli's, but I was far too busy to participate. I did make it to Mother's of Young Children Devotional last night. I was about 15 minutes late, but I was finally there!

I was hoping to show you photos of our home away from home. Maybe next week I'll be able to post photos from our trip this weekend. Yep we are going camping and right now, it's snowing! It's expected to be in the 50's the rest of the weekend, so we plan to relax and have a good time.

When we go camping I try to keep our food easy, cheap (especially right now), and somewhat healthy. So the meal plan for this weekend is:

Friday night:
Hamburgers or Hotdogs (turkey dogs for the kids and me, hot links for Dana)
Baked Potato with sour cream
celery sticks with ranch dressing

Saturday morning:
Easy Huevos Rancheros
Hot Links

Saturday lunch:
Tuna Sandwiches
Chips (generic cheese tortilla chips)

Saturday night:
Hamburgers or Hotdogs (whichever we don't have Friday)
California Pasta Salad

Sunday morning:
SOS

Snacks in the trailer include: Nature Valley granola bars (99 cents at Grocery Outlet), Peanut butter (this is a snack for everyone in my family, but me), popcorn, Girl Scouts Thin Mints, and don't forget S'MORES!

Looking at the menu now, I realize we may need another veggie or fruit. Usually I pack lots of both, but nothing is really in season at this time. Maybe I'll pick up a can or two at the store. Have a great weekend!

Now look TJ, if you are so wild and adventurous, that you need to camp out in the snow, why don't you come to Alabama for some
'X-treme Visiting'....between my kids, my dust bunnies, and Laundry Mountain, you would never want to be Extreme again!!!

The menu was cool. You should be a professional camp planner! You could cater everyone's weenie/weiner roasts (some say tomato, so say tomatoe)! Import Marshmallows from exotic places - like Alabama. HAH!

Have a safe and fun trip. I know you will share details when you get home!!

Ahem, that would be "some" say tomatoe, not so say tomatoe. THAT would make no sense (like it does anyway).

Wow, you lucky, you get to go camping! It is a little too cold and wet for me to go this early in the year. We will go in May probably. Have fun!

******WELCOME HOME!!!************

This is the Blog banner that I have hung up and waiting for you. *fweee* - just blew a party favor.

Here is the menu for your surprise Welcome Home Party:

Red frozen Punch - the kind with pineapple juice and jello that make people go all punch-glutton when you serve it.

Cream Cheese mints - shaped like snow flakes cause you like to camp in the snow.

A sheet cake - baked by moi that says SURPRISE.... WELCOME HOME.... something like that.

A "chicken ring" (dip) with Club crackers and a wheat cracker - I'm told it is yummy but I dont eat mayo or spinach so I dont actually know if it is good or not. It was either that or Sausage Apple Pie..... decided chicken ring might be best.

A fruit tray with THAT dip. I don't know what it is but THAT dip is so good.

A plate of cookies for the kiddos. I am a big fan, whatever we attend, of a plate of cookies for the kiddos. That is a tradition of mine I guess, to carry that.

EAT UP! PARTY ON! MINGLE! ENJOY!
