Measurements (This post will stay on top see below for new posts)

Remember growing up how the "BIG" birthdays were 13, 16, 18, and 21. After 21, though the big ones become the decades: 30, 40, 50 and so on.

I know that there will be plenty of jokes and harrassment today, so let me be the first to say that today (March 13th) I am officially the BIG 3-0! Gone are the days of my reckless youth. No more tattoos, body piercings, riding ATV's, drinking beer, wearing short shorts, going barefoot outside, wearing bikinis, catching frogs in the mud, loud music...

Ok those of you that know me are laughing so hard right now that you are about to pee yourself. For those of you that have had a few children (like me), you have peed yourself and are searching for clean pants!

I plan to continue all of the above (except body piercing, because I can't think of anyplace else I'd like to have a stranger put a needle. I know some of you can't believe I thought of places that I wanted a needle. But, seriously, it's expensive and I'm done). The only things different now that I'm turning 30 and not 21 is: I don't have a bunch of friends wanting to buy me a drink. It's time to start using the anti-wrinkle creams. I have to dye my hair now due to grey hair, not roots (I'm beginning to match my bedroom walls).

To celebrate my birthday, and the beginning of spring, I'm doing my first ever blog giveaway! I will close the giveaway on March 20th. So if you would like to recieve the gifts below, please leave me a comment. I'll randomly choose a number and announce the winner on March 21st.

First, you have your choice of a handmade baby hat. Either the Spring Chick cap which is about a 3-6 month old size.Or the Basic Navy in newborn size.

Even if you aren't having more children, there are always grandchildren or that unexpected baby shower. And a handmade hat makes a great gift.

Second, I'm doing a re-gift. I received this from a former secret prayer partner. She is a wonderful and strong lady. She battled cancer, she lost her husband and she is still the sweetest lady! She was my prayer partner twice and gave me some amazing gifts. This gift is beautiful, but I've never used it, have no place to display it, and it's just not me. I feel bad that it sits up above my kitchen cupboards, and I don't have the heart to just sell it at a yard sale. So giving to one of you seems the best solution.

It is really pretty, and hand painted. These colors are perfect for Easter. So if you would like to receive these two items, please leave a comment for me, and help celebrate my birthday!

You are such a youngster! I hit the big 4-0 last year and am now dreading the next one in a few short days.

BTW, you and my son share a birthday! He's ten today but that probably doesn't make you feel any better;)

At any rate, I hope you have an awesome birthday.

I've really enjoyed reading your blog and of course your comments at mine over the past few weeks (or has it been months?) Time really does fly as you get olde... er, more experienced.

Cry me a river you skinny little 30 year old. :^) If I pierced my navel it would look like a towing hitch. I had considered putting a Buddah (sp) tattoo on my, um, bossom, but it would only look like Ghandi in 10 years. A bikini? BWA HA HA HA!

Seriously? You are as young as you feel. Don't grow up EVER! Have a Happy Birthday. You are a blessing to me, and I wish you the BEST.

Your give-aways are adorable by the way.

Happy Birthday from an old lady! LOL I still have one piercing planned and a tattoo in the works, so there. :)
The best part of getting 'older' is that you can say a lot more of what you actually think without people dismissing your opinion due to 'youth.' Party on girl!

hmm, better get out your cane! Thirty seems so old when you have been in your 20's for so long, you know!! It is a big jump (man , I am making you feel wonderful). My daughter will turn 30 next year and does it ever seem impossible!! She got her doctorate and had her baby within months of each other. Now she is a stay at home mom--she finds it harder than doing her research work!! Until you have kids you really don't know what you are in for , RIGHT?!! But what blessings. And really if you live to enjoy each moment of each day--even in the most difficult times there is such a richness and I think that age just means more friends, more rich experiences, more love, more wonder....so Bring it on!

Happy belated birthday- March 13 was my birthday too, so I had to comment! However, I am considerably older than you. Boo hiss!

I'm not sure how I found my way to your blog, but I hope it's okay if I stick around! ;o)

Happy 30th! That's so funny- I'm about to have one too...but I'm not saying how old!
That was a funny post. I have given birth three times- but not peeing my pants yet. That might take a few more miles on the old gal *U*

Happy birthday!
I don't have any tattoos, but my Gramma did! She had the old people style tattoos on her face that women got when they came of age (periods). I have two ear piercings, I guess that can count as something.

Hi TJ,

I loved your post. It made me laugh out loud.

Happy belated birthday! I hope that this will be your best year so far.

Please exclude me from your drawing. While I love what you are giving away, I do not have any babies, and I don't collect teapots.

I just wanted to stop in, say "hi" and wish you lots and lots of happy times.

Hugs from your pal,
Cookie
